Exactly one year ago I went to the hospital expect Exactly one year ago I went to the hospital expecting nothing to be wrong, only to be told I had breast cancer.

Suffice it to say, this past year has pretty much sucked. I don’t really have anything more substantial to say about it at the moment.

When you live with chronic illness, you know that there is always a chance that your health will deteriorate further. But I somehow never imagined having to choose to take medication that will worsen my wellbeing.

Well, here we are. For five years I am on various meds/treatments to reduce the likelihood of the cancer coming back. Worth it, but five years is a long time. Especially since all the side effects make me feel like a dysfunctional, sleepy pile of garbage 24/7 (I believe that is the correct clinical terminology 😉).

My quality of life has definitely taken a hit. I am doing okay mentally but I am still in the process of finding stable footing. What is my new baseline, and how can I adjust my routine to make more room for creating.

Because somehow, all of this hasn’t crushed my creative motivation. I have SO many new design ideas. Unfortunately, I rarely have the energy to sit in my studio and do something with them. Moments that I have done so have almost always led to overexertion. But I miss clay!

I definitely want to try to figure out how I can make Claymeleon work in the coming years. I’m sure there are changes I can make to keep it viable. Some are already in the works, but in baby steps.

In the meantime, thank you for your endless patience, super kind and thoughtful well-wishes, and excitement whenever I do show something I make! These colorful crocuses brought me so much joy - I can’t wait to plant them into little pots 😍.

Mystery box launch will be today at 16:00! More de Mystery box launch will be today at 16:00! More details if you swipe and in my stories 💚.

Sorry for the short notice but I slept well tonight and thought I’d jump at the chance to get this organized asap so the boxes will (hopefully) arrive before the holiday season starts 😃.
Quick update: I am doing okay*! Just wanted to let Quick update: I am doing okay*! Just wanted to let you all know that. Thank you for the supportive messages I got after my previous post 🥰.

I am far from being back up and running BUT I do want to do one thing this year, and that is release the mystery boxes! I packed them all up in April so they are completely ready to go. Perfect to treat yourself and/or give to your loved ones! And it will hopefully help me end the year close to breaking even 🤞.

I have 26 boxes available. Each box has 5 pairs of Claymeleon earrings. No plants, before everyone gets overly excited 😂. Lots of leafy/floral designs though!

It will be a pretty spontaneous release since it is difficult to predict when I can manage to get behind my laptop. But I will do my best to give some notice in my stories. I am planning to do it in the coming weeks before the holiday shipping rush starts.

Sending everyone hugs 💚.

*The more honest way to say it is I am okay, also not okay, but given the circumstances okay with not being okay all the time 😂.
Once again, my life has been completely turned ups Once again, my life has been completely turned upside down by illness. This time, it’s breast cancer 💔.

Completely unexpected, as I have zero family history of breast cancer and am only 34. When I felt a random lump, I expected everything to be fine… but it wasn’t. Check your breasts 🙏.

The past two months have been a blur of appointments and tests with both good results and bad ones. I have had surgery already and fortunately that went well. Recovery has also gone better than expected given my chronic illness. Radiation will start soon, followed by more treatment after that. Getting through it step by step but I have such a long road to go.

Managing the wild rollercoaster of cancer when I already have a chronic illness is difficult (to put it mildly). This probably goes without saying, but Claymeleon has to take a break. I don’t know for how long but I don’t expect to be able to open the shop any time soon.

While it is sad that my stock of finished plants will have to wait, it will be nice for me to look at and keep as a reminder of what illness can inspire. And it gives me an extra incentive to get through this so each plant can find a happy owner 🌱.

Unfortunately, I was on holiday when the flowers bloomed (so I missed the day when one bloomed and the other was still closed, oops). Also, if anyone knows why my real peace lily leaves are turning yellow please let me know! 😂 I am better at making tiny plants than I am at keeping real plants alive.
